Tablet is a Gadget For Reading The News

According to the Director of the Project for Excellence in Journalism, Tom Rosenstiel, now more and more people get used to reading newspapers through the tablet. “Before the sleeping people will read a story that will appear in the paper tomorrow,” Rosenstiel said as quoted by the Associated Press, Monday, March 19, 2012.
The report says tablet users have a tendency to spend more time reading articles and news sites rather than mobile users or desktop computer.
In research released Monday, March 19, 2012, was also mentioned traffic to online news sites jumped 17 percent during 2010-2011. This growth is similar to the previous year.
The public still has strong ties with conventional paper in a way to find traditional news sites and applications.
“The demand for conventional journalism continues to persist and in some cases even growing. Many think this content is not coming from a traditional news company,” Rosenstiel said that together Bill Kovach wrote the book 10 Elements of Journalism.
But unfortunately, this opportunity is more widely used by media companies than a technology company in terms of advertising reach. The report found that the five companies, Microsoft, Google, Facebook, AOL and Yahoo!, managed to grab 68 percent of digital advertising revenue during 2011.
Media companies are generally not able to provide specific information to specific customers who became the target of digital advertisers. Besides them, the media company, it has not been as aggressive as the technology company.
Rosenstiel noted there is a tendency over the last year working with technology companies in the media company providing news services.
For example, Yahoo! took ABC News, YouTube has a number of its own channels, one of which is operated by Thomson Reuters. Then the Washington Post chose to develop a news aggregator, Trove.com, which is available on Facebook.
Similarly, the Associated Press that provides coverage options through Flipboard application on a computer tablet. AP developed this service in collaboration with WhoSay.com.
PEJ report also noted that social media are also increasingly used as a reference to look for news selection. People will look good friend recommended news on Facebook and Twitter.
Although, only 9 percent of people who regularly follow the recommendations in Twitter and Facebook, while 36 percent say news direct access to the application.[YNews/It]
